South Narrabeen SLSC Unveils Refurbished Ocean View Room

A refurbished Ocean View Room with space for up to 100 guests is now available for hire at South Narrabeen SLSC following a $270,000 upgrade to the club’s facilities.

The renewed function space was formally launched during the surf club’s 103rd Annual General Meeting on 1 August, when members, volunteers, community leaders and guests gathered at the clubhouse.

The Ocean View Room formed part of a wider refurbishment that also included upgrades to the café and other function areas. The work was designed to make the clubhouse more functional, accessible and comfortable for members, volunteers and the wider community.

Ocean View Room Opens For Community Use

With capacity for 100 guests, the Ocean View Room provides a refurbished space for functions at a club that has served South Narrabeen Beach for more than a century.

The club president said the upgraded café and function areas were intended to give members and the wider community more opportunities to come together at the clubhouse.

Their use also contributes to the club’s work beyond the building itself. Revenue from bookings, events and visits helps fund the volunteer lifesaving service operating at South Narrabeen Beach.

Volunteer lifesavers from the club have been looking after the beach for more than 100 years, making the clubhouse both a base for surf lifesaving activities and a gathering place for members and other community users.

Refurbishment Reaches $270,000

The clubhouse works represent a total investment of $270,000, including a $200,000 grant from the NSW Office of Sport.

Completion of the refurbishment was marked alongside the club’s 103rd AGM. The meeting also included the presentation of its annual report and financial statements, confirmation of the previous AGM minutes and renewal of club affiliations.

With the refurbishment complete, the Ocean View Room is available for hire with capacity for up to 100 guests, extending the ways the South Narrabeen clubhouse can be used by members and the wider community.
