Emergency services responded to a range of incidents across Narrabeen between Saturday, 23 May and Thursday, 28 May, including a confirmed funnel-web spider bite, multiple fire alarms, and an intoxication-related callout.

NSW Police were called to Pittwater Road shortly before 1.30am on Saturday, 23 May, to assist a person reported to be intoxicated.

Fire crews were later called to an apartment building on Lagoon Street just after 6.45pm on Tuesday, 26 May, after a fire alarm was activated. Fire and Rescue NSW Narrabeen Station attended and found no fire, determining the alarm had been triggered accidentally.

A more serious emergency unfolded on Wednesday, 27 May, when NSW Ambulance responded to reports of an elderly woman bitten by a funnel-web spider at The Esplanade just after 2.15pm.

Paramedics treated the 86-year-old woman for a confirmed male funnel-web bite, applying a pressure immobilisation bandage before transporting her to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.

Later that evening, just before 9.30pm on Wednesday, 27 May, Fire and Rescue NSW Mona Vale Station attended another alarm activation at an apartment building on Lagoon Street. Firefighters identified the cause as a leak in the sprinkler system and advised residents to contact their fire servicing company for repairs.

Emergency crews were called twice to a retirement village on Lakeshore Drive on Thursday, 28 May. The first incident occurred just after 7am, while the second was reported shortly after 7pm. In both cases, Fire and Rescue NSW Narrabeen Station found no evidence of fire and determined the alarms had been triggered accidentally.

A further fire alarm callout occurred just before 11.45pm on Thursday, 28 May, at a unit block on Lagoon Street. Firefighters again found no sign of fire and confirmed the alarm had been activated accidentally.

The incidents form part of a broader snapshot of recent police, ambulance and fire service activity across Narrabeen.
